Beijing strongly protests Manila's recent remarks

Beijing on Wednesday made strong protests against Manila regarding its recent negative remarks on China and issues concerning the Taiwan question and the South China Sea.
Liu Jinsong, director general of the Department of Asian Affairs of the Foreign Ministry, met with the Philippine Ambassador to China Jaime Florcruz and exchanged views with him on the basic principles and strategic direction of China-Philippines relations.
In response, Florcruz said the Philippines was willing to manage and control differences as well as stabilize and improve bilateral ties.
Earlier this month, two supply vessels and two Coast Guard vessels of the Philippines intruded into the adjacent waters of Ren'ai Jiao in the Nansha Islands. They attempted to send materials, including construction materials, to the vessel illegally grounded at Ren'ai Jiao,which seriously violated China's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
